Malaysian police continue to step up efforts to crack down on telecommunications network fraud.On the morning of June 25, according to public reports and preliminary intelligence, the Kuala Lumpur police launched a raid on a luxury apartment in Wangsha Marju, successfully destroying a call center suspected of engaging in online foreign exchange investment fraud, and arrested nine Chinese men and one Malaysian man at the scene.
According to Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadhil Mathus, the police raided a unit on the 17th floor of the apartment at about 11 am on the same day, and seized a number of laptops, mobile phones and other equipment at the scene.Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang mainly targeted Chinese victims for online foreign exchange investment fraud, and it is believed that criminal activities have been carried out there since the beginning of May this year.
