Cambodian repatriation of 173 Chinese nationals involved in cyber fraud and illegal residence
The Cambodian side pointed out that the continuous crackdown on cyber fraud crimes is aimed at maintaining social security and order in Cambodia, safeguarding the safety of life and property of the public in the country and the international community, and further deepening cooperation with relevant countries in the field of cross-border law enforcement.
Cambodian repatriation of 173 Chinese nationals involved in cyber fraud and illegal residence
On June 24, against the background of the Cambodian government's continuous efforts to combat cyber fraud, the General Administration of Immigration and the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia jointly repatriated 173 Chinese nationals (including 2 women) to China by charter.
According to the General Directorate of Immigration of Cambodia, the deportees were suspected of involvement in illegal activities such as online scams, illegal residence and illegal labor.On the same day, the relevant personnel took a special flight to leave the country after going through the immigration checkpoint at Techo International Airport.
The Cambodian side said that the repatriation operation was carried out under the unified deployment of high-level government officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Sar Sokha and Director General of Immigration Sok Veasna, and was carried out in strict accordance with relevant Cambodian laws and regulations.
The Cambodian government stressed that it will continue to severely crack down on transnational criminal activities such as domestic cyber fraud and telecommunications fraud in accordance with the law, adhere to the principle of "zero tolerance", and not only track down the organizers behind the scenes and criminal gangs, but also actively rescue the victims who have been lured to participate in cyber fraud activities, assist them to regain their freedom and return to their countries of origin.
