Al-Sayab Specialized Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery at Al-Sayab Teaching Hospital in Basra Governorate conducted two open-heart operations for two children, within the joint international medical cooperation programs (Iraqi-Italian) and with the support of the Basra Health Department. The center's management explained that the two operations included treating a child with a complex congenital heart defect, and another with an interventricular opening with a compressive membrane under the aortic valve, stressing that the center has modern equipment and technologies to provide cardiac surgery and catheterization services for children and adults.
